We photograph your smile from multiple angles and analyse your facial proportions, lip line, tooth-to-gum ratio, and the colour and shape characteristics of your existing teeth. Using design software, we create a digital mock-up of your proposed new smile — calibrated to your specific facial aesthetics.

You see your new smile on screen before any decision is made. We discuss tooth shape, length, colour temperature, and edge detail. Nothing proceeds until you are genuinely excited about the direction.

For patients who want an even more tangible preview, we can also fabricate a physical wax-up — a physical model of your proposed teeth — and create a temporary mock-up that you can wear for a day or two before committing.

Porcelain veneers require the removal of a thin layer of enamel from the front surface of each tooth being treated — typically 0.3–0.7mm, roughly the thickness of a contact lens. This creates space for the veneer to sit flush with surrounding teeth and bond securely.

This step is performed under local anaesthesia, so you will feel no discomfort. The preparation is precise and conservative — our goal is always to remove the minimum amount of tooth structure necessary.

Once prepared, we take a digital scan of your teeth (no traditional impression trays required) and send the specifications to our ceramist. High-quality temporaries — which closely mimic the shape and colour of your planned veneers — are placed the same day so you are never without a complete, beautiful smile during the fabrication period.

The fabrication of your veneers takes approximately 2–3 weeks. During this time, a master ceramist individually hand-crafts each veneer from dental-grade feldspathic porcelain or lithium disilicate — materials chosen for their exceptional translucency, which closely mimics the light-reflecting properties of natural enamel.

Each veneer is layered in up to eight individual ceramic applications, fired in a furnace between each layer. The final result captures the internal characterisation — the subtle gradients of colour, the bright translucent edge, the warm underlying dentine hue — that makes a great veneer indistinguishable from a natural tooth.

When your veneers arrive from the ceramist, we schedule your bonding appointment. This is the most meticulous session in the entire process.

We begin by trying in each veneer with water-soluble try-in paste to assess colour and fit before permanent bonding. At this point, you have the opportunity to evaluate your new smile and request any adjustments to the shape or shade.

Once you are satisfied, the tooth surfaces are etched, primed, and coated with a precise adhesive. The veneers are bonded one by one under magnification, with excess cement carefully removed and the bite checked from every angle. A curing light hardens each veneer in place.

The appointment typically takes 2–3 hours depending on the number of veneers being placed. At the end, you leave with your permanent, final smile.

With proper care, porcelain veneers last 15–20 years. The following habits protect your investment:

• Brush twice daily with a non-abrasive toothpaste

• Floss daily — veneers are bonded to the tooth but the gum margin around them still requires care

• Wear a custom night guard if you grind or clench your teeth

• Avoid biting hard objects directly with veneered teeth (ice, pens, fingernails, bottle caps)
